In wordpress, you can set your blog to run visual editor. This can be a good option for noobies, but i prefer to not use the visual editor. For one, inserting certain code can be a pain. Embedding youtube clips can also be difficult if you run visual editor. If you want to become a good blogger, you should deselect the visual editor.

I have been blogging close to a year now. I feel comfortable around the wordpress admin. But, i know that i still have a lot to learn when it comes to blogging. I hope that you guys will join me as i learn the game.

College or University

What’s the difference between a college or university. I don’t want to get too academic here. Let’s just talk about it like we’re having a normal conversation. For me, when i hear college, i think of liberal arts. I think of a small campus with a lot small classes. I think of the Claremont colleges in Pomona. I also think about how expensive colleges are. On the flipside, i also think about community colleges. Community colleges are like extended high school. I went to community collge for summer session to get some general education units out of the way. It was a cheap way to fulfil my GE requirements without paying a lot of money. The attitude that the staff and student body has was different from my 4 year university. I don’t mean to sound bad or anything, but i think the atmosphere was not that good.

What is a university exactly. When i hear university, i think of large libiaries and research institutions. I think of large classrooms and TAs. You don’t really get to build relationships with your professors. What do i think is better? Probably colleges. But who can afford colleges?

Every body knows that a college education is important. I am a do it yourself type of guy, but i know that a college education is a necessity. If you want to get a good job, more then likely, you will need a college degree. Now, a college education doesn’t guarantee success. But, the things you learn in college will stay with your for you whole life. It’s not just about hitting the books either. It’s about networking with future clients and colleagues. You learn a lot of social and leadership skill in college.
